Not seeing your metrics on-screen? Read this first!
If you’re taking a class in the Flexia Online Studio and you see that your real-time metrics Control and Consistency (the red, yellow, and green dots) aren’t showing up for some exercises even though you see that the reformer is “connected” - this may be normal.
Why You May Not See Real-Time Metrics
There are certain parameters that every Pilates exercise needs to meet in order to display real-time metrics in the Flexia Online Studio and be counted toward your MQS. We’ve summarized them below to help you understand which exercises may or may not display real-time metrics during class.
Movement Based Exercises
In order to calculate a Consistency score for a movement-based exercise, there must be at least 3 repetitions. However, to see real-time metrics on screen there often needs to be at least 5 repetitions in order for our system to make smart comparisons. So, for shorter sets of movement-based exercises you may not see real-time Consistency scores, even if you get an MQS at the end of class.
The Control score needs a couple of repetitions to appear, and can often be delayed if the movement of the carriage isn’t big enough.
Stillness Based Exercises
In order to calculate Control and Consistency scores for exercises where you are instructed to keep the carriage still, such as an articulating bridge, repetitions are defined by relative time, causing both Control and Consistency scores to delay appearing in a similar manner to movement-based exercises.
For classes that were released prior to July 23, 2024, exercises that require keeping the carriage still will not show real time metrics for Stillness, as the Stillness gauge was not yet launched. Classes released after July 23, 2024 with stillness-based exercises will show real-time metrics with the Stillness gauge, which replaces the speedometer. Control and Consistency will appear as normal.
Exercises that Can’t be Measured
Notably, some exercises within the Flexia Online Studio cannot be measured at all. Because our technology is mounted on the carriage, if the carriage movement (or more commonly lack of movement) doesn’t tell us anything about the intended exercise, then we don’t measure that movement. Example exercises that fall into this category include:
- Short box abs
- Short box sideovers
- Cat cow with hands and knees on the carriage
- Series of 5 performed on the carriage but with no straps or footwork
Please note that static stretching (for example, happy baby, lunge stretch, or static mermaid) is not captured by our metrics. Though immensely beneficial, static stretching will not count toward or against your MQS.
This often means that some of our older classes do not show real-time metrics for several minutes until the warmup is complete.

If you believe you should be seeing real-time metrics and aren’t, please try taking this short Sensor Test Class and ensure your reformer is “connected.” If you don’t see real-time metrics or an MQS after class, email hello@flexiapilates.com with a screenshot of your My Results page for the Test class and a screenshot of your class showing the real-time metrics sidebar.
