How to adjust the reformer side wheels
It may be necessary to adjust the reformer's side wheels to achieve optimal carriage performance.
Tools:
10mm open-end wrench (or 10mm socket and ratchet)
4mm allen wrench
Preparation:
- The springs and shoulder rests are removed from the carriage
The carriage is removed from the reformer frame and placed upside down on a clean padded surface to protect the upholstery from damage

Removal:
 | Insert the 4mm allen wrench key into the head of the black M6 bolt located in the center of the wheel. |
 | Using the 10mm wrench, grip the M6 nut underneath the bracket that the wheel is mounted to. |
 | Turn the allen wrench counterclockwise until the nut is completely loosened and removed from the bolt. |
 | Remove the wheel, bolt and washers from the bracket. |
| Insert the bolt through the bearing in the wheel. DO NOT install a washer between the bolt head and the bearing. |
| Install 3 washers on the bolt and slide up next to the wheel bearing. |
SideWheel Adjustment
| Insert the wheel, bolt and washer assembly into one of the other 4 holes in the bracket. A. If the carriage is too tight between the rails (ie. all 4 wheels in constant contact with the side rails) choose a hole closer to the centerline of the carriage. B. If the carriage is too loose (ie. too much side - side travel of carriage between the side rails) choose a hole further away from the centerline of the carriage. |
***The updated mounting bracket now has 5 hole positions instead of the original 3 shown in this document. The ‘as shipped’ position is the middle or 3rd hole in the bracket. This leaves 2 adjustment positions in both directions to either increase or decrease the amount of side - side travel of the carriage. Ideally the wheels should be adjusted slightly narrower than the space between the rails to allow free movement of the carriage.***
| Install a washer and the nut as shown in Figure 1. Thread the nut on by hand until you feel it stop turning. |
 | Using the allen wrench and open end wrench tighten the nut and bolt firmly. |
Repeat for the other side wheels.
Note: It is highly recommended that each side wheel is mounted in the same hole position to keep the carriage centered on the reformer.
